​Located a little more than an hour north of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade mountain range on the Mountain Loop Highway, just outside the small town of Granite Falls, is our property featuring the guest house, "The Nook of Monte Cristo." Our property is nestled in the Canyon Falls neighborhood and is perfectly located for those wanting to explore our great hiking trails, wilderness, and all that nature has to offer. Then, when you are all done, you have a place close by to come back, unwind, and relax.

The Nook of Monte Cristo is a guest house/tiny house on our property and sits adjacent to our trailer. We do our best to give guests their privacy, even putting up curtains on our deck to give you and us some extra privacy. Even though we are friendly, we also respect boundaries and only engage in conversation with our guests if they initiate it. My wife and I have a combined total of over 40 years of hospitality and customer service experience, and we use this past experience to try and give our guests the best stay possible at an affordable price. The property is in a prime location for you to get started on your adventures on all the great hiking trails and wilderness that the Mountain Loop Highway has to offer, and we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from a lot of popular attractions in Snohomish County.

After a long day of adventure, this guest house/cabin is like a dream. All nestled inside 160 sq. ft. (10ft. x 16ft., not including the covered porch) is a cozy oasis with all the amenities one needs, even for a long holiday. The guest house has a covered porch overlooking our small pond, which is great for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or tea. You might even be blessed by a sighting of ducks, a heron, frogs, birds, or the deer that like to wander through. The covered porch has two outdoor chairs with cushions and a table. If you like, there are two TV trays inside that you can take outside to enjoy open-air dining. There is also outside lighting around the deck that can be turned off by unplugging it.

When you arrive, there is a dedicated parking spot straight ahead next to the cabin. If you have more than one vehicle, the second vehicle can be parked outside of the property on the road. It is only 50 feet away from the cabin, and there is not a lot of traffic here as there is only a handful of other properties in our section of the neighborhood.

Our neighborhood has a couple of river access locations, including a park about a quarter of a mile away. But, if you are really looking for adventure, then you will have to check out all the hiking trails that this area has to offer up the Mountain Loop Highway—just don't forget your Northwest Forest Pass, which can be purchased in town if needed.

The guest house cabin has most of the amenities that one would need for a long stay, except for personal laundry service. There is a laundromat in town which is not far away. During your stay, if extra linens are needed, just notify the host as we have plenty of extras. Amenities included:

• Free Fast Fiber Optic Internet: We suggest using Wi-Fi Calling when on the property, as cell service is very low once you get out of town, if available at all.
• Smart TV: Loaded with apps like Hulu, YouTube TV, Netflix, Prime Video, and HBO Max.
• Adjustable Queen Memory Foam Bed: Both the head and feet sections are fully adjustable.
• Tankless Hot Water Heater: Enjoy endless hot water!
• Fully Stocked Kitchen: Features a medium-sized fridge/freezer, a convection toaster oven for baking and air frying, a Nuwave hot plate for cooking, a toaster, a waffle maker, a teapot, a Keurig coffee pot (K-cups) or a large 10-cup coffee maker, a mixer, a microwave, and all the necessary dishes for baking, cooking, and eating.
• Complimentary Toiletries: Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are supplied. We proudly use Ginger Lily Farms (plant-based) products.
• Climate Control: Mini-split air conditioning and heating system with remote control.
• Linens Provided: All bedding, towels, and washcloths are supplied and can be replenished during long stays as needed.
• Alarm Clock: Equipped with built-in USB adapters.
• Fire Pit: Includes free firewood (just make sure to bring your own paper/kindling to get it started).
• First Aid Kit: Fully stocked for your safety.
• Filtered Water: We are on city water, but all the water coming into the tiny home is filtered via a main filter located underneath the home, and the kitchen faucet has an additional under-sink filter. The water is very clean and safe to drink.
• Enhanced Security: Hotel-style lock on the inside of the door for extra security accessible from within.
• Property Cameras: There are security cameras on-site, but there are absolutely no cameras inside the tiny home or on the porch of the tiny home. We respect our guests' privacy; the only cameras are focused on the driveways and other outer portions of the property.

The property is pet-friendly with a flat $20.00 per-stay pet fee, no matter the length of the stay (no hidden nightly pet fees here!). We ourselves have two indoor/outdoor cats that like to come over and say hi.
